Well, you already know my Subaru loves your Seishirou very much, Jessi-ko. ^_~ But seriously... you play him a lot more human than most writers ever do, which is really nice. Because he is human, human and a bit more (or less, however you want to look at it), and I'm really not so sure that even a completely emotionless thing could be completely, unrelentingly cruel. Gets boring after a while.

And there is a somewhat tense balance in their relationship as we play it, too. Subaru's afraid of doing things wrong or hurting Seishirou unconsciously, so every so often he gets really really scared and nervous and cranky. And goes drinking with Kamui. With an excess of eyeliner on.

Okay, on a totally unrelated topic: "House of Leaves" is starting to scare the shit out of me. You all need to go find it and read it, because it's really good, and then you all need to hold me.

Wow, I'm kinda behind on this one. Anywho, it's my turn to rant. ^_^

If anyone's character is written either boring or perhaps OOC, it'd be my version of Seishirou. I mean, please, the man is supposed to be a heartless bastard, who feels nothing as he shoves his arm through someone's chest. Oh course that's not good enough for me.

My Seishirou has trouble with emotions, but isn't completely devoid of them. He's a master at hiding what he's feeling and when he's out in front of other people, it's really hard to decipher what's going on in his head. However, when he's alone with Subaru, he's a completely different person. He dotes on his lover, fusses over him, lavishes attention upon him.... even lets him ride top once in a while... *cough*

That's not to say that he's not completely cold out in public. If Subaru would assert himself a little more, he'd probable find that he has his lover wrapped neatly around his little finger.

Most people would tell me that I'm playing him completely wrong. But then again, think of the circumstances that we're throwing these characters into. For one, Hokuto is alive and well. My Seishirou couldn't bring himself to kill her, as doing so would hurt Subaru. Since his secrete was out, he took off. Now they live in the same dorm building (neighbors, even). Let's say that the angst level has been severely chopped down to... let's say an eighth of what it was before.

What's the point of my ranting? It all depends on what circumstances you throw at your characters. If you play them PERFECTLY cannon, then you might as well be retelling the manga/tv series. New things are bound to crop up in these new stories, so the characters will react to them based on the situation.

I'm actually in the process of putting the Excised Scene from Tabula Rasa down in code today. The writing's not so bad, but the content... Sumeragi's an obsessive bitch, and a nihilist, and needs to get laid repeatedly (in dreams and in the waking world), and boy howdy, does this scene reinforce that.
So, um. D-chan, I'll release the URL to you in exchange for a picture (though PLEASE don't draw this scene). Might as well get a little bonus for it, ne? ^-^

Brief fic/RP rant:
I play a very tame Subaru.
I'll come right out and admit it. I feel boring, sometimes, because his character quirks are very small and mostly rather gentle. He adores Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky and the musicals of Lerner and Loewe; if he had the chance he'd wear kimono to work, just because he likes their shape and simplicity. He sings, but only when he thinks no one is listening--or in front of a huge crowd of people, where the lights of a stage blind him and he can pretend he's alone. He doesn't blush terribly easily, unless you tease him about his own abilities or attractiveness; he has impeccable manners, doesn't believe in quitting a job until it's done, and has a fierce, almost sad "boys don't cry" mentality that only applies to himself.
Yes, he has a goth streak. Yes, he swears. Yes, he can get nihilistic to the point of violence if provoked. And yes, he's so deeply entrenched in his love for Seishirou that he nearly tortures himself sometimes.
But he is, by and large, a perfect gentleman, a guy who just wants to live normally ever after and be happy.
Tame.
I feel like a really vanilla fangirl sometimes for the way I portray him, and for the fics I write: alt couples for X and TB just don't do it for me, and yet there are so many other people writing for the same relationship dynamics as I am. It's really kind of intimidating--can I make people believe in my Subaru as not being boring, can I get people interested in my fics as something above the crowd?
X fandom is a scary place for a little S/S fangirl with a strong soulbond. Not that I plan to quit, but.

Had kind of a vision when I did smoke, which made me quit cold turkey.

*Yawns* I'm tired. Stayed up waaaaay too late last night after the RP chats and then surfed for X info junk. Then I went to the beach today! Nice beach. People in swim gear. *nods* I miss making sand sculptures.

And Ria keeps insisting that I show Yami no Matsuei to our other good friends at tomorrow's sleep-over, but I am almost *certain* they're not going to like it the way she wants them to. Though, gay men are fun, we all have different tastes. (And it ain't like they're anime die-hards, to boot.) Heaven forbid any of my buds show *me* a sappy chick flick.

Opinion on "chick flicks":
1. Boring romances, same formula all the stupid time.
2. Where's the slash? ^_^ Anyone seen "Borstal Boys"? I've heard that's pretty good...
3. Again, boring romance. Haaaaaaate pure sap. Kill it. Give me plot, damn you. Sap comes after angst! Good angst!
4. It always leaves me with the feeling of "Aww, what a nice relationship..." Then I want to hit myself and go "Why don't I go out and find myself a guy and actually live my own romance instead of have my brain cells commit suicide?" You gals here have your significant others, you're lucky. Envious here! No more suffering for you.

Reading over this, I guess that "chick flicks" aren't really what I have a problem with. Just movies where the only plot is romantic entanglments, which become more often than not forgettable movies. Burn 'em. It's just porno without the sex.

Blarg I need sleep. (I almost snapped at Ria on the phone this morning, sorry! *sweatdrops*) Too tired, but no one to blame but myself. And staying up is fun.

Reasons I Should Not Be Let Out Of My Cage

1. Today my mom and sister and I went to Target. We found t-shirts with velcro patches across the front that you can stick individual letters on--a make-your-own message kinda deal. Mom bought one for me and now I have a black t-shirt that says "SUMERAGI" across the front.
2. I am burning copies of the X Musical playlist, and I'm not telling the people I'm sending it to.
3. I'm responsible for the idea of CookieMonster!Seishirou.
4. Ditto Kinomoto Sakura as the Sakurazukamori.
5. Ditto ClosetGothAndSometimeBondageFreak!Subaru.
6. I can also spell "SAKURAZUKAMORI" with the sticky letters for my t-shirt.
7. And "BISHOUNEN".
8. And I got inspired to write an S/S fic by a speech from a Noel Coward play. Think about that. Some people would just settle for doing a songfic.
9. And I'm responsible for these two fics.

'Cuz I was shopping for Stalker's B-day and I came across it! Bought a really cute peasant blouse too. *is a sucker for them* Should've gotten the skirt that went with it.

I've something relatively important to let you guys know. You see, Stalker and I were playing cards the other night and talking about life in general (We do that. We get along really well for the most part). Anywho, the conversation sort of came around, and I decided to let her in on my recent...shift in preferences ~_^ So yes, she knows I'm a lesbian, and she knows about you, love. She was really okay with it! I think watching Buffy so much, and all the WillowxTara softened her up towards the idea. You have no idea how much better I feel now that I've got someone to gush to ^-^

1380~! Wah, so good! Congrats, Nicky!

Been boring last few day. Singular. Yes. Read all the X volumes out in America yesterday, and my absolute favorite part was the Yuuto vs. Sorata in book 2. They're hilarious!

And also, you can see the what looks like the early version of CLAMP's dragons (ugly beasties in the first volumes), to the more pretty and sleek and snake-ish kinds based on asian dragons. Was this on purpose, or just a change in style? Anyway, neat circles of doom designs, too.

Damn it, I really do like the idea of Sora/Kamui. They're just so different! ^o^ Though, being polar opposites in personality is a bad thing, too. But it balances...

Surprise surprise! My mom brought her laptop with her to get some stuff done for work, and she's letting me borrow it real quick. Plus the Midol finally kicked in, so I'm semi-coherant.

Urgh, I'm with Lisa on this one; I've got to make a cartrip to OHIO tomorrow for a bloody Family Reunion. -_- Have I mentioned my intense dislike of all my relatives? Yay for me, I get to spend three days surrounded by my prep-wannabe cousins (they're all rednecks, they can't actually BE preps, thank goodness)

*panic* Oh Lisa NO!!! DON'T READ IT!!! The first ten chapters or so were written over a year ago! They REALLY SUCK. You're going to either laugh your ass off at my lack of talent or hold it in contempt. It needs rehauled badly.

Okay, I better make this a good entry since I'm going to miss three precious days of kiss-and-blog time due to being in New York City for the weekend. :D

Yeah, limited plotspace makes one-shots sucky to write... this particular one-shot is, I think, so hard because there's just so damn much Sakurazukamori in it. And, you know, me with my Subaru personality... yeah.

I'm going to have to make a list of fic projects that need doing. So most likely when I toss up my X-fic page, there will be this loooong list of oneshots right in the middle that I need to do...
